Well-known Kimberley businessman, Mr Koos Swanepoel, opened Libra Pharmacy at 100 Long Street on 19 November 1975.

At the time there were four staff members: a pharmacist, an administration officer, an assistant and a messenger.

Koos Swanepoel managed Libra Pharmacy for almost 21 years before his retirement in February 1996, when he sold the business to the current owner, Gerhard Davel.

After operating for 23 years and four months from the premises at 100 Long Street, it was decided to move Libra Pharmacy to the Towers Complex, situated at 108 Long Street.

The new pharmacy opened on March 23 1999.

A medical practitioner is situated right next door.

Libra Pharmacy is still a privately owned independent pharmacy where you will experience customer service with a difference.
